This is a four week, in person course for you to attend with your baby. Our classes are small, friendly and relaxed to enable you to have time to connect with your baby on a deeper level.

This is a chance for your baby to learn more about you, their body, their surroundings, and for you to communicate how much they are loved and respected, all in a nurturing environment.

What does your booking include?

  • 4 week baby massage course

  • 30ml Kapi baby massage oil (sunflower oil)

  • All equipment (mats, blankets, cushions)

  • Refreshments

  • A comfortable space for parents to breast or bottle feed

  • A baby massage handbook so that you can continue your practices at home

  • Opportunity to meet other parents in your local areas

What to expect each week

Week 1

In week 1 you will meet the other parents who will be on the course with you, you will also receive your 30ml bottle of Kapi Sunflower Oil. Our teacher will then guide you through soothing massage techniques for your baby's legs and arms, promoting relaxation and healthy circulation. In this session we will explain why we think nurturing touch is important for your bonding process and for enhancing your baby's overall comfort and well-being.

Week 2

In week 2 we will focus on massage techniques for baby's tummy area, aimed at supporting baby's digestion process and preventing / relieving colic. Learn how to nurture your baby's digestive health through calming and effective touch.

Week 3

In Week 3 we will focus on massage techniques for your baby's chest and arms. This session is designed to support circulation and lymphatic drainage, to improve respiratory function, and to relax the muscles around the lungs and chest, which helps to release congestion and mucus, and encourages deeper breathing.

Week 4

In Week 4 we will concentrate on baby's face and back. When massaging the face, you may have an oportunity for loving eye contact - or they may just try to eat your hands :) Your teacher will demonstrate soothing techniques to help with teething discomfort, deep sleep, and to ease breathing and clear nasal passages from congestion if baby has a cold. There will be lots of tummy time during this session too. This final session ensures a well-rounded baby massage experience, and we can recap anything you're not sure about from the course.

All of our sessions aim to support you and your baby's bonding process through nurturing touch! You will talk and sometimes sing to baby, which helps to develop their communication and language skills. Our massage strokes will help release muscular tension, bring oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, improve circulation and lympatic drainage, help remove toxins, encourage body awareness, help the process of myelenation + so many more benefits.

*Always let us know if your baby has a health condition so that we can support you as best as we can!

*Please note there may be some stairs to climb to get to the class it is a very old building so does not have a lfit, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause

FAQs

  • Yes, we always allow a +1 to attend our classes. This could be your partner, a grandmother / grandfather etc. It could be anyone you'd like to share this bonding process with.

  • Please contact us in advance and we will always try to organise so that you can make up for your missed session during the next course. We kindly ask that you notify us in advance if you already know that you will miss a session.

  • While nurturing touch can be introduced earlier than 8 weeks (without use of oil), our baby massage classes are suitable for babies from 8 weeks until crawling. In some cases you may need to wait a bit longer, for example if your baby is due to have their immunisation or due to a health condition.
